Wanderlust Whistler was a transformational event that opened my soul, rhythmically charged every cell in my body, left me exhilarated, exhausted and still wanting more. Humble gratitude to the amazing team of organizers, facilitators, teachers, speakers and performers. They served our bodies & minds with their masterfully crafted art.
The journey to Wanderlust Whistler 2012 started with an impulse purchase from a Facebook ad & a gut instinct that I was supposed to be there. The line up looked spectacular. I got the early bird discount so what the heck, let’s get my yogi on. Three classes a day with your yogalebrity & DJ of choice, a Hay House speaker thrown in on the side, for desert Michael Franti & Spearhead and for your nightcap Quixotic & Theivery Corporation. Hot Hot Hot ..
OK, post event full Authenticity .. my toe is killing me from trying to straighten out from 25 years of being bent from point shoes in my youth.. and my right hip (masculine side of body) had a massive snap release in response to my full female embodiment of dance and abundance with Mara Brascombe. I have never felt closer to my BFF Michele Shorter and her intense love for my daughter and for sharing amazing moments with me. I got to laugh, dance, cry and learn from the spiritual wisdom of the sisterhood of Danielle Laporte, Meggan Watterson, Kate Northrup and one of the biggest influences in my spiritual life, Marianne Williamson. Maria Fillipone rocked my body with her absolute amazingness. My husband went to his first yoga class & spoke only positive of it (yoga for tight dads). Honestly I truly loved all of it, right down to the soul cracking vulnerability of Sean Corne’s voice. Janet Stone’s chant aligned my chakras and closed my weekend practice with a powerful song of Lakshmi.
My body & soul have been stretched on and off the mat. I have been left yearning for more flexibility, strength and growth in all realms of my life. I nurtured vulnerable moments to exulted states of tears & healing. I have done everything I can to take it off the mat, to embody the spirit of love and share my energy with all those in my presence. I could fill a book with my learning, but for now here are some thoughts. Join me on my mat with these coach-able moments & questions.
When a master is speaking it is for your benefit, not theirs. Honor the freedom of their voice & it’s service to you.
Who is offering their mastery to you? How can you listen with more intention of integration?
Feel the rhythm of breath & movement of every individual in the room and know you are supported in your practice.
What if you took this concept into the office, the sales conversation, the classroom and moved to a more rooted state of self management?
Namaste to all these great creators for putting on a living work of art with the breath & sweat of every human being that chose to create community on the mountaintop!
Marianne Williamson Wisdom:
“Your self actualization is the universes goal”
“The experience of God is what is Real Not the Belief”
“Heaven is the experience of our oneness”
Some deep words spoken by both Marianne Williamson & Sean Corne were .. “Not in my house”, the world is our home and we have to have compassion for the karma of all those living outside of our abundance. We would never let a child starve within our home or let this go unnoticed in our community. Pray, have gratitude and learn more of how you can contribute to serving the worlds children. Google “off the matt & into the world”, it will inspire you.
